If I Can Do It, You Can Do It: A Motivational Story to Help You Lose Weight

A Motivational Story to Help You Lose Weight

I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager and the struggle continues, even though I’m well into my 30s now. However, I know that if I can do it, you can do it too. And that’s what this article is all about – showing you how you can lose weight successfully through these six steps to starting your own journey towards getting fit and healthy. Let me first give you a bit of background on why you should listen to me – after all, it could be argued that people who have succeeded in losing weight are not the best sources of advice on how to lose weight!

Losing weight doesn't have to be hard. All you need is a little bit of motivation and the right plan. There are many ways to lose weight, but some of the best plans are custom-designed for your body's needs and lifestyle. Asking someone who has lost weight before can help you find the perfect plan for you! If I can do it, so can you! What Is Your Goal?

In order to lose weight successfully, you need to set a goal for yourself. Set specific goals like I want to lose 15 pounds by my birthday or I want to wear size 6 jeans.

Keep Track Of Your Progress : In order to keep track of how much progress you're making towards your goal, write down what day it is and what your starting weight was as well as what your current weight is each day after exercising and dieting. Make sure that you don't just weigh yourself once at the beginning of the month--you should weigh yourself every week on Monday mornings after going through one week worth of food consumption (Monday-Sunday). What other things could we put here?

I have a weight loss story that can help you see that you can do it too. When I was in high school, my mom died of breast cancer and during the next two years of my life, I gained an unhealthy amount of weight. Once I graduated from college and moved out on my own, the weight just kept piling on. As soon as one diet didn’t work for me anymore, I found another that would be better suited for me. And then one day while scrolling through Facebook (of course), something caught my eye and made me stop what I was doing. It was a photo of this woman named Kathy Smith who had lost 100 pounds after joining Curves. My initial thought was how is she not tired all the time? Doesn’t she feel like her body has turned against her? Isn’t she angry about all the people who had been mean to her because of how she looked? Isn’t there something wrong with her that no matter what she does, she still doesn't look like those people in magazines or on TV? But something told me to keep reading. To continue reading about this woman's journey. How she used to want so badly to go back to the size 12 jeans she wore when she was 18 but couldn't find them anywhere because they weren't available anymore. How even though she loved running, sometimes it felt like such a chore that seemed impossible-no pun intended-to keep up with. But every time her clothes got tight and uncomfortable around her waist, Kathy knew it was time to hit the gym again and lose some more weight so that one day she could finally wear those jeans again. One day she might walk into the store and buy a pair of skinny jeans without feeling ashamed of herself.

I realized that Kathy wasn't any different than me. She wanted to be healthy, live longer, but sometimes it seemed like things were never going to change for either of us no matter what we did. The only thing that we could do was hope that things would get easier with time. So we continued our journeys together-Kathy continuing hers at Curves and myself getting healthy by changing my lifestyle choices here at home. I started eating healthier and cooking instead of always eating out or grabbing fast food. I started exercising regularly-walking outside with my dog in the morning, going to spinning class three times a week, taking boxing lessons twice a month. Sure enough, I began seeing results! Even if it was just five pounds each week over five weeks-I had already lost 10 pounds! And now that I'm down 15 pounds total I know that if Kathy Smith can do it, so can you! With the weight starting to come off, I became more comfortable with my body and noticed a huge difference in my mood. I'm happier, I have a lot more energy, and the best part of it all-I can fit into that bikini that I've been eyeing for months now. So don't give up, stay motivated, and don't forget to celebrate your small victories along the way. This may not be easy and it will take patience, but it'll also take time. All of your hard work will pay off sooner than you think.

Reaching your goals is hard. If it were easy then everyone would do it. But the secret is that if you want something badly enough you're going to have to work for it and if people can't see how much work you're putting in they're not worth your time. So stop doubting yourself and start believing in yourself because you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
